Room acoustics questions.
Where should acoustic panels go in a home studio?
Start at the first reflection points on the side walls, then a cloud on the ceiling. The app finds those spots on your own walls and gives the size to build for each panel.
How many bass traps do I need?
It depends on how long your room's bass rings. The app usually starts with floor-to-ceiling traps in the two front corners, and adds the back corners and the ceiling edges only if the bass still rings.
How far should studio monitors be from the wall?
Usually close: under 0.43 m from the wall behind them, the bass dip that wall causes moves above the bass range. The app checks the distance for your monitors, and an ear test lets you hear the options.
Do I need a LiDAR iPhone?
No. LiDAR makes the scan instant, but every feature works on any iPhone - type the room size or draw the floor plan.
Do I need a measurement microphone?
No. Placement and the ear tests work by listening. If you use REW, importing a sweep upgrades the plan from predicted to measured.
Does it work with REW (Room EQ Wizard)?
Yes. Import a REW measurement to see predicted against measured, and a later one to see before and after; the export steps are on the support page.
What's free and what's paid?
The scan, the 3D room, the summary and all of Stage 0 are free for any number of rooms. Unlocking a room's full roadmap costs $19.99 once, and your second room is half price. Acoustic engineers with many rooms can subscribe to Studio Pro, which unlocks every room while active; those rooms stay unlocked if it ends.
What happens to my data?
Nothing leaves your iPhone: no account, no analytics, no tracking. Read the privacy policy.
